Choosing the Right Fabric for Team Uniforms
Race Ready Industry · May 4, 2026
Fabric selection is the single biggest driver of how a uniform performs across a full season. Weight, weave and finish all affect breathability, durability and print clarity.
For high-output sports such as soccer and basketball, lightweight interlock and mesh-panelled knits are typically specified for airflow. Contact sports such as rugby and American football call for heavier, more abrasion-resistant knits.
Buyers evaluating a manufacturing partner should request fabric swatches and GSM specifications before committing to a bulk order, and confirm colourfastness and shrinkage tolerances as part of the sample approval stage.
